Linear electron accelerator
Linear electron accelerator for radiation sterilisation of medical devices, irradiation of food products, irradiation of heat shrinkable product pieces and other radiation-technological processes.
Technical characteristics
Continuous control of electron energy, beam current and irradiation field length with recording of controlled parameters.
Beam output system, which allows to irradiate products from two opposite sides at once in one passage of the irradiation zone.
Highly efficient thyristor-based klystron modulator.
Key characteristics of the accelerator
Radiation processing unit with linear electron accelerator
Linear electron accelerator
Electron energy at the accelerator output of 10 MeV allows to irradiate products with surface density up to 8 g/cm2.
The most frequently irradiated food such as spices, medicinal herbs, dried fish, dehydrated vegetables, etc. have higher volumetric density and should be packed in boxes not more than 10-20 cm thick for irradiation. The accelerator can irradiate shrinkable products blanks: cable sleeves, sleeves and pipes with wall thickness of 6-8 mm, etc.
For example, the accelerator can be used for radiation sterilisation of disposable medical products: bandages, cotton wool, sponges, disposable medical underwear and clothes, rubber gloves, blood transfusion systems, disposable gynaecological and urological instruments, etc. in standard boxes of 40x40x60 cm size.
LLC SPE CORAD accepts orders for turnkey construction of radiation-technological units for sterilisation of medical devices and irradiation of products based on linear electron accelerators.
The units include an accelerator, a conveyor for moving irradiated products into the irradiation zone, a concrete biological shielding that reduces the radiation level around the unit to the standard radiation background, and a safety and control system for the unit.
Electron energy
8 - 10 MeV
Power consumption
70 kW
Maximum average electron beam power
15 kW
